And then there were three. The New Orleans Pelicans, Denver Nuggets, and Portland Trail Blazers are the last teams on the outside looking in. And the league has had some form of conversations with all of them, according to G League President Malcolm Turner.

While the road to 30 is inevitable, the question becomes, how do we get there? Rather, what locations are in play for each of the remaining teams? It looks like Portland could be closing in on a location of their own.

According to multiple league sources, the Trail Blazers have their eyes on setting up G League shop at the Nike World Headquarters just outside Portland in Beaverton, OR.

This makes sense as a ready-made location, and also is further exposure to the Nike brand, who now supplies the NBA and the G League with their uniforms.

There have been many who have suggested Seattle would be a prime location for a G League team in the interim, but it seems the Blazers could bring them closer to home.

The decision has not been finalized according to league sources nor is there a timeline as to when an announcement could come from the team or the G League.

So far, only one additional team will be added to the G League for the 2018–19 season, the Capital City Go-Go, the G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards. The league is set to tip-off next season with a record 27 teams.
